What is Cape May County Way?
Release Date: February 27, 2007 Cape May Court House – A display, “What is Cape May County Way?” will be featured during March at the Main Cape May County Library, 30 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House. Cape May County Way is the name of a street in Cap Haitien, Haiti, where twenty-five small but sturdy houses are being built. Sponsored by the people of Cape May County in response to the extreme need in Haiti, several local schools are involved in this project. The students from Wildwood Catholic High School are offering a visual and factual display highlighting a comparison of Cape May County, NJ and Cap Haitien, Haiti. To date, six of the twenty-five houses that will comprise “Cape May County Way” have been completed. A single house made of concrete blocks and metal roofing costs $2,600. The entire street of houses will cost $65,000. The houses are being built by “Food for the Poor,” the 3rd largest international charity operating in the United States. The goal is to spread the wo
