Personal data are those which identify the data subject and their personal characteristics. For example, name, address, contact details, age, NHS number. In circumstances where personal data are to be held or processed, the Trust will normally seek informed consent of the individual in question unless one of the limited exemptions provided in the Data Protection Act 1998 applies.
