What is considered business formal and business casual?
The following guidelines are applicable to your initial matching interview with UIP and your initial field interview with your potential sponsor. Attire guidelines applicable to your weekly internship assignment should be discussed with your potential internship sponsor during the field interview. Under most internship circumstances that require business formal or casual attire, it is not acceptable to display temporary or permanent nail and body art, including tattooing, piercing, branding, scaring, etc. Nor is it acceptable to wear body adornments beyond convential and conservative jewelry. Also, be cautious of various fashion trends. They may or may not be appropriate or recognized as fashionable by your interviewer. Men’s Business Formal Attire: • A suit, preferably in a dark color (black, charcoal, navy and other dark colors are usually appropriate) • Long-sleeve dress shirt • A tie • Dress shoes • Dark socks • Minimal jewelry and cologne Men’s Business Casual Attire: • Neat slack
