What is creative problem solving?
Creative Problem Solving (CPS) is a change management process that utilizes innovative and critical thinking principles and techniques. Using CPS provides a flexible yet structured framework to (1) identify and clarify problems and situations, (2) generate and refine ideas efficiently, and (3) develop and implement innovative solutions. CPS has been researched for over 50 years, beginning with the pioneering work of Alex F. Osborn, author of Applied Imagination: Principles and Procedures of Creative Problem Solving. As an alumnus of the graduate program offered from the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College (State University of New York), Russell utilizes his expertise of the CPS framework, its principles and techniques, to enhance his knowledge, skills and abilities as a workplace learning and performance professional.
