What is “crimp wefting” (also known as “perma-tease” or “that fuzzy stuff”)?
Not too many years ago, the “big hair” look was in. Women demanded fuller-looking wig styles, and to accomplish this, the wig manufacturers created “crimp wefting” also marketed by some brands as “perma-tease.” The idea was to add fullness and body to the wig by sewing wefts of crimped or “teased” hair into the cap at the root area. Fewer and fewer styles these days are made this way, but if you have seen a wig that look extremely “fuzzy” on top – that’s crimp wefting!
