What is effective communication and why is it important to overcome sensory deprivation barriers?

effective communication is communicating in the most effective way possible. By sensory deprivation do you mean sensory impairments? If so: You would need to work round sensory impairments in order to communicate effectiveley with a person. If a person is blind or has a sight impairments then you would need to approach them from the front, tell them you are there and speak in a soft voice before starting a conversation – so not to startle them! Also lighting can affect communication – is the sun in their face or is the room not lit properly! If a person has a hearing impairment then you would need to speak louder so that they can hear you, sit in front of them so that they can lip read or you may need to use sign language if they are deaf. It is very important to overcome these barriers to communicate effectively – it can make conversations and communication more enjoyable for the individual by making the communication as clear as possible. Hope this has helped!
