What is finalization?
Finalization is an operation that allows a DVD disc to be played back on other devices. When recording with HD image quality, finalization is required for any types of disc. When recording with SD image quality, the effect of finalization differs depending on the types of disc used as follows: • DVD-R/DVD-RW (VIDEO mode)/DVD+R DL: You can play back a disc on a device such as a DVD player in the same way as a commercially available DVD-Video disc (Playback may not be possible depending on your device). You can create a DVD menu when finalizing (The style of the menu can be selected by touching the OPTION button). Please note that you cannot make additional recordings on a DVD-R or DVD+R DL disc once you finalize it. • DVD-RW (VR mode): You can play back a disc on a device that supports DVD-RW (VR mode) (Playback may not be possible depending on your device). • DVD+RW: For more playback compatibility, it is recommended to finalize a disc.
