What is identifier resolution? How does it differ from service resolution?
Identifier resolution is the process of taking an LSID and retrieving the associated data and metadata objects. While this does entail resolving a service that is capable of resolving the LSID, more general service resolution and lookup is viewed as an independent process. That independent process will be able to satisfy the more generic service lookup and discovery use cases that do not and should not impinge on the specific case of identifier resolution.
