What is Imagineering?
When using EFT with a physical symptom the obvious place to start is with the pain. But what if there is no pain? Sometimes when people come to us for help with a physical symptom they tell us how painful it has been and how they anticipate further pain but when you ask “on a scale from 0 to 10 where 0 is no pain at all and 10 is as bad as it can be, what number would you give it now?” Their response comes back “well it doesn’t hurt just now”. Oh where do we get started with EFT when someone has a painless condition with no visible symptoms? It was for these painless, invisible conditions that I developed the Imagineering technique and then found it had many other applications. In this article I’ll give you an overview and in the next I’ll show you how to use Imagineering. Your imagination uses your full consciousness to create metaphors of reality. Imagineering is a portmanteau word which combines imagination and engineering. The term is most often associated with the Disney corporation, which maintains an enormous staff of imagineers to design new rides, resorts, water parks, hotels, theme parks, branded cruise ships, and other Disney real estate holdings. It also applies to other industries where staffs of highly trained individuals work together to develop and execute a concept, usually on a large scale like a theme park or branded hotel. Imagineering is a demanding, fun, and interesting career, and people with all sorts of skills can become part of an imagineering team. People who are interested in pursuing a career in imagineering with Disney have a number of options that they can pursue. Actual engineers who can work out the mechanics of a ride or structure are very valuable, but so are individuals with creative talent and imagination who can dream up new and exciting concepts for their employer. Its clientele includes the automotive, aerospace, medical, agricultural and computer industries. Imagineering also provides customer-specific quality-assurance tests, non-destructive test methods, salt spray and humidity tests.
Imagineering is the equilibrium between the technical and the imaginative. The endeavor to achieve the practical through the creative. More often than none, this comes about by understanding what is technically possible, what is reasonable and most importantly, how this translates to viable solutions.
Got it at the Park today at the signing event. Briefly, here’s my take on it… Disk 1 contains only the program on Disneyland. It clocks in at just under 60 minutes. What there is is pretty decent. It’s just a bit too short. Also, for anyone looking for a lot of details on the creation of the attractions, you won’t find it here. It’s more of a general overview. Basically, it starts out with Disneyland’s beginnings and then goes land by land, talking about some of the key attractions in each land. It doesn’t spend that much time on any one attraction. It’s kind of like a Reader’s Digest condensed history of the Park and how it has developed over the years. In some cases, it talks about enhancements to attractions, like the movie additions to Pirates. Curiously, though, it does not mention the new addtions to the Haunted Mansion. It does include some attraction construction footage that I’ve never seen before, which was neat. I would like to have seen more of that kind of thing. There w
