What is it like to be a fireman?
Hello, I’m an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) , but i’m around firefighters enough to know a bit of what they go through. “how dangerous is it really” – Well, he’ll be running into burning buildings on occasion, and you’ll never know what may happen once you get in there. Of course it kind of depends on the area you live in as to how often he will have to do that. Other times he will be assisting with EMS calls as a first responder (it’s become pretty standard for firefighters to also take EMT training in the fire academy), so he may be exposed to diseases, and there’s always the danger of crazy drivers if he’s out there on the road extricating someone from a car wreck. But sometimes there’s plenty of time where he’ll sitting in the station waiting for a call, and other times where it seems like the calls are non-stop. “Is it hard to become a fireman”- It depends on who you are really.
