What is Jobs Daughters?
Job’s Daughters is an organization created to unite girls who share the common bond of a Masonic heritage. This enables them to learn leadership skills, organizational methods, and the importance of fulfilling individual responsibilities within a group. By planning their own activities, the members have fun doing what they want to do and at the same time create lasting friendships.
Job’s Daughters is an organization of young women between the ages of 10 and 20 who are related to a Master Mason, and share a common bond. We have members in the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and the Philippines We have fun together at activities such as swimming parties, dances, family picnics, slumber parties, miniature golf, marching in parades, travel . . . well, you get the picture. By working closely together, you will make new friends that will last a lifetime. We also help others. Throughout the year, we perform service projects to help our community, the less fortunate, and other charities. We actively support the Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment (H.I.K.E.) Fund, which purchases hearing assistive devices for hearing impaired children. We learn leadership. By holding various offices in Job’s Daughters, you will gain valuable leadership experience, be a part of a team, and learn democratic principles. The International Order of Job’s Daughters is an organization for girls between the ages of 13 and 20 years and limited to daughters or relatives of Master Masons. It was established October 20, 1920 by Mrs. Ethel T. Wead Mick of Omaha, Nebraska. It has one ceremony, the ritual of which was prepared by Mrs. Mick and is based on Job 42:15. It maintains an educational fund and aids Shrine hospitals and other charities. Local groups are called Bethels and each is headed by an Honored Queen and is under the guidance of a Guardian Council of five adults. Grand Council may be formed in any state where there are five Bethels. There is a national Supreme Council, which has nineteen officers elected annually by the Grand Councils from among members of the Grand Councils.

Job’s Daughters is a quality organization created with the purpose of teaching young women to be contributing, self-reliant and faithful adults. We aim to achieve this through three main devices: FORMAL MEETINGS Job’s Daughter Bethels hold two formal meetings a month, based on a common set of practices known as a ‘ritual’. The formal meetings are a mix of solemn ceremony and regular business. They are chaired and run by the members themselves and give them the opportunity to discuss the business of the group, plan upcoming activities and welcome new members. From the teachings of the ritual, members learn important life lessons, while at the same time learning practical lessons about running meetings, handling finances, planning events, and public speaking. Job’s Daughters is formal occasions! FUN & FRIENDSHIP Local groups plan frequent fun activities (like bowling, pool parties, sleep-overs, mystery trips, dinners, kidnap breakfasts, scavenger hunts, and many, many others). Occasional
