Low impact seismic is a term that represents best efforts by industry to reduce the impact of a program on the the environment. In Yukon, the concerns are preventing damage to wildlife habitat, waterways and permafrost. The type of methods used to lower the impact of seismic depends upon the program design and the land that the operation will be taking place in. The goal of L.I.S. is to achieve the smallest footprint that still leaves the project economically viable.
