What is local area connection 9?
When you first install a network card, Windows will automatically give it the name “local area connection.” If for some reason you have to uninstall and/or reinstall the network card, windows will call it “local area connection 2” as windows will maintain the first in the registry. Doing this over and over, or if for some reason windows is installing drivers to your network interface each time it boots, you’ll end up with “local area connection 2” and then 3 and then 4 and so on. If you have 9, looks like it’s happened quite a few times. If you are deleting it yet still have a network interface in your computer, it’s going to put it back. You should be able to rename the connection. Give it a different name. You shouldn’t see “local area connection 9” again.
