The word Moly is short for molybdenum disulfide which is a chemical compound used in many oils and greases to minimize metal-to-metal contact by adhering to the metal surface thus reducing friction. There are many compounds of moly used in the lubrication industry both for wear protection and or oxidation control.

Molybdenum MoS, Moly”. Commercially available Molybdenum disulphide comes from a natural mineral “Molybdenite”. MoS, is a hexagon crystal composed of a lattice of layers of sulphur and molybdenum atoms. They retain their laminar structure no matter how minutely pulverized. The “Moly” is micronized to .035 of a micron in our products. “Moly” is an inert material and will not oxidize.
