What is Operant Conditioning?
Operant Conditioning is a form of training (coined by Comparative Psychologist B.F. Skinner) that relies on using stimuli to increase or decrease a specific behavior. There are four types of Operands: Positive Reinforcing, Positive Punishing, Negative Reinforcement and Positive Punishment. Positive and negative refer to increasing or presentation of a stimulus and decreasing or removing a stimulus, respectively. Reinforcement and punishment refer to increasing and decreasing the frequency in which a behavior is displayed, respectively. Dog Language: This is how I learn what my guardian likes and does not like.
