What is PCP or Angel Dust?
PCP, or Phencyclidine, is available as a powder or in a liquid form. Most users spray it onto marijuana and smoke it, although some people put it on mint, oregano, parsley, or ginger leaves and then light up. PCP is also known as “angel dust,” love boat,”supergrass,” and “rocket fuel.” At one point it was used as an anesthetic and a sedative, but fell out of favor because patients became irrational and delusional as the effects of the drug wore off. Causes of PCP Addiction People start experimenting with the hallucinogen “angel dust” because it creates an out-of-body experience. “Rocket fuel” is psychologically addictive, with users wanting to recreate the experience of feeling outside of themselves and free from stress and worry. Users of “angel dust” also report hallucinations and addicts look to the drug as a means to escape from ordinary life.
