What is PEPP (Poway Extended Primary Program)?

0

Many children entering Kindergarten at a younger age benefit from being given additional time to develop the self-confidence and readiness skills necessary for academic success. Poway Unified School District offers the Poway Extended Primary Program (PEPP), a developmental program designed primarily for our younger kindergarten students, turns five between June 1st and December 2nd, and students with individual needs who would benefit from two years in a Kindergarten class. PEPP is not intended as a remedial program, but rather a developmentally appropriate first year of kindergarten, preparing students for a smooth transition to a traditional kindergarten classroom the following year. PEPP is offered at the following elementary schools: Canyon View, Chaparral, Creekside, Del Sur, Garden Road, Midland, Monterey Ridge, Painted Rock, Park Village, Shoal Creek, Stone Ranch, Sundance, and Turtleback. If your school of residence is offering PEPP, you may go and register for PEPP at the Kind
