What is perhaps the single greatest reason corporate leaders engage in unethical business practices?
Certainly, there are real pressures on leaders to report success with no down cycles, which can lead to fraud when there is a lack of fortitude to acknowledge and deal with problems. I believe we all have the capacity to make bad choices and cause a world of hurt, and I think God’s grace keeps us out of a lot of trouble. Please give examples of some well-known American business people who exhibit corporate integrity. Jim Collins, author of Good to Great; Ben Heineman, retired general counsel of General Electric; Chik-fil-A founder Truett Cathy; Colleen Barrett, president emeritus of Southwest Airlines, who talks about servant leadership; and Warren Buffett, who speaks truth to power.
