Ah, now we’re talking about the bread and butter of POTBS. In POTBS you’ll be able to command one of 54 different types of ships, with each ship affecting things such as how many crewmembers you’ll have on board to the speed and steering of it to the firepower at your command. Combat is fairly fast but methodical, requiring concentration and understanding in order to come out on top. You’ll need to properly navigate your boat for one thing, setting it so the wind catches your sails and speeds you along faster. You’ll also need to line your ships’ guns so that they are firing facing towards your enemy. There are supposed to be nine different types of canons in the game. Each ship has a Durability, which goes down as the ship takes gun damage. When your durability points reach zero you’ve officially lost your boat as it has been destroyed, and you’ll now have to purchase another one.
