With pre-authorisation, National Service Network checks that your credit or debit card is valid and reserves the funds required to pay for the repair work. Please note, it is important that you use the same card for pre-authorisation that you intend to use to settle your final bill.

It is important you call Bupa before you proceed with any treatment in order for us to pre-authorise it. Pre-authorisation means that we make sure all aspects of your treatment are eligible under the terms of the scheme you have, for example your condition, the consultant carrying out the treatment, the hospital where you are treated and the monetary amounts you are entitled to under your scheme. After your initial consultation, you may need to contact us again with details of any treatment recommended by your consultant. With these details we can again let you know about your benefits before further costs are incurred, to ensure there are no unexpected personal costs.

We don’t recommend using your Corporate Cash Passport as a guarantee of payment (usually for things like hotels, car hire and petrol pumps) that is also known as pre-authorisation. These companies often estimate the bill then ‘hold’ the amount for up to seven days, often leaving you without sufficient funds. You can, however, use your Corporate Cash Passport to settle your final bill.
