What is Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery?
The Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery course is a broad programme designed for students who wish to explore both silversmithing and jewellery techniques and design challenges, leading to a personally focused specialisation in the final year. Key features of the course: Students on the course have very good studio and workshop spaces. All three years from both the Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery and the BA (Hons) Jewellery courses are accommodated together and there is good interaction between years and discipline groups. The workshop facilities are of a very high standard with expert technician support. Students on both courses will do at least one ‘Live’ commercial design project as a special feature of year 2. As part of both courses, we offer a range of organised study trips abroad as well as in the U.K. All staff teaching on the course are practicing designer / makers. What will I learn?
