What is Slumdog Millionaire, but another “tale of prosperity and bling?
This movie struck me as another lame Bollywood movie or worse-a Mexican soap opera show. An especially disturbing scene that I think more or less encompasses the movie: a little boy hears that his favorite star is in town, so he covers himself in other people’s excrements to achieve his dreams. And the moral of that is? If you try hard enough (if you cover yourself in other people’s excrements and the like) you might just succeed. There will always be that “chosen” slumdog who will carry out the riches, for us to comfortably forget all those others who will never get out of their misery. Let us all watch some more TV now.
