What is Social Security Act?
The Social Security Act made it possible for the US Federal Government to provide both financial and medical assistance to the elderly, disabled and their dependents. Without the help that the Social Security Act provides, these people would have to depend on their individual states to provide them with the financial and medical assistance that they need to survive and keep from going into poverty because of the lack of income they have.
