What is SSRS?
SSRS stands for Single State Registration System. In this system, you pay for the states you will be operating into, out of, or through. A carrier must register its operating authority and proof of insurance, and pay filing fees in its base state. The carrier must select the state in which it maintains its principal place of business, if such state is a participating state. A carrier that maintains its principal place of business outside of a participating state must select the state in which it will operate the largest number of motor vehicles during the next registration year. The base state must be selected from the participating states. The base state issues a receipt showing which states a carrier may operate in. Non-participating states are: Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Florida, Delaware and Hawaii. The following states are participating states, but require no fee: Arkansas, California, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma
