static dynamic random access memory (known as SDram) is physicalit is the short term storage between the hard drive and the cpu, when you need to run a program it is opened on the hard drive and loads into memmory waiting for the cpu to get ready to process the request to run the program when the cpu is ready the ram dumps its data and goes back to the hard drive to gather more needed data and does this process over and over again for each click of the mouse or keystroke or anything else that happens it temporairliy keeps data
