What is the 2nd most populated city in the United States ?
Los Angeles. Los Angeles city proper is 3,833,995 people, but those of us who live down here (me, San Diego), rarely refer to individual massive cities. The rest of the LA basin contains: (1) Urban – 12,175,434 (2) Metro – 12,872,808 So the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area has a greater population than every US *state* but California (which it’s in, obviously), Texas, New York, Florida and Illinois, just beating out Pennsylvania. Since most of us here recognize the fact that from the US-Mexican border in San Diego and on up to Santa Barbara is essentially one huge city… makes other *states* look really pathetic. California is the most populous state in the Union, and most of her population is down here, with the only other significant population being San Francisco, then Sacramento.
