What is the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Report?
The No Child Left Behind Act requires all states to report student achievement based on results of reading and mathematics statewide assessments and several other academic indicators for all schools, districts, and the State. The AYP Report provides a breakdown of achievement test results for major racial groups, economically disadvantaged students, students with disabilities, and English Language Learners. All groups must reach the annual proficiency target for their schools to make Adequate Yearly Progress.
