What is the airport contact and why is it needed?

0

BasedAircraft.com has a ‘Preferred Contact’ for each airport. (It’s available under the ‘Airport Details’ link in the top left corner of the Airport Details page.) It has always been helpful to have an airport contact that was familiar with the based aircraft list whenever questions arose. Having a valid email address for the appropriate person is the best method of ensuring that your airport can be contacted if necessary. Originally, all communication regarding Based Aircraft was through the FAA Region offices to the states and/or the airports, but there are discussions underway about using email as the preferred method to contact the airports for BasedAircraft.com about any deadlines or changes in the program, so a valid email contact is increasingly important. The contact information, like all BasedAircraft.com data, is FAA data and is absolutely not shared outside of the BasedAircraft.com users.
