What is the best kind of reptile PET to get and why?

Have you considered Leopard geckos, Crested geckos, Viper geckos, Gargoyle geckos, or African Fat-tailed geckos? All of them are small, don’t need huge terrariums, easy to care for, interesting looking, and generally docile. If you are looking primarily for a ‘display’ pet; I would suggest the Gargoyle or Crested gecko. If you want a pet that is more handleable; go for the Leopard, African fat-tailed, or Viper. In my experience while Gargoyles and Cresteds can definitely be handled; they tend to be a tad more flighty and nervous. Here are care sheets for all of the aforementioned species: Leopard gecko: http://www.vmsherp.com/CarePages/CareLeo… Viper gecko: http://www.vmsherp.com/CarePages/CareTer… African fat-tailed gecko: http://www.vmsherp.com/CarePages
