No offense but your question directly is easy to answer. Your details boggle my mind. BEST is a relative word, and depends on the stock you’re cutting, the angles and purposes, and the end finish you want for a cut. I have no less than 3 different blades ready to change out, depending on the task. I’m gonna hope you meant to add will “NOT” splinter the wood? Use a Finishing, Fine tooth blade. Steven Wolf Part of the issue however, also equates to sharpness of the blade and the operator pulling down into the stock slowly, and letting the saw break stop the blade perhaps before letting loose of the stock or the saw handle.

so far DIY Doc has the best answer in that it depends on what you’re cutting, I have 3 blades I keep around also, 1 is a combo blade, 5 teeth on one section, big gap, then 5 teeth, all the way around, I also have a very fine toothed blade for doing trim, and a metal cutting blade, from when I was doing new gutters and downspouts, I’m sure somewhere down the line it will come in handy again, especially since it’s a diamond blade that I can use for tile in a pinch

Many manufactures make compound miter saw blades, they are a special blade with neg. rake so don’t try a skill saw type blade/ I have used dozens of different blades and have finally settled on Forrest Blades for every saw I own. They are in my opinion the standard to which every other blade is measured. Don’t let the price scare you these blades stay sharp twice as long as the cheap blades and can be resharpened at least 3 times if you send them back to Forrest.
