What is the best smoothie maker?
I use it everyday and make very thick drinks, so think in fact that I can stand the full blender upside down and the contents won’t move, but it can still blend. It is the 2 horsepower (yes, better than many lawnmowers) Vita-Mix 5000. I make my kids lemonade slushies by just filling it with ice and lemonade powder, and only a tiny (less than a cup for a whole blender) bit of water, and it makes something like a hawaiin ice. I have had it for 3 years now and it is still running great. It runs fast enough that the friction alone from it spinning so fast will boil veggies and make soup in a few minutes. When I go to friends parties and we will be having boozy shake drinks, they all ask me to bring my blender. It is a heavy thing, lots of steel inside. It is the same manufacturer that makes the blenders used at all the retail shake and smoothy places (eg juice it up, baskin robbins). It has a tamper in the lid which helps it blend everything down well. There is a newer model now, the 5200.
