Anoles i heard are not very good pets that they are to fast and don’t take being handled much which is a bad thing if you want to hold them. Bearded Dragons are the best for handling but the best beginner reptile is the Leopard Gecko although it is fairly had to tame when young because they are pretty fiesty when young but it is a good reptile. I would get the Bearded Dragon i own one and they are so nice and calm and love attention at any rime. I own a Bearded Dragon he is about 14 in. and 8 months old he is a beast.
