What is the best way to clean a Teflon coated griddle?
Just like you would an ordinary griddle, just not with something that could scratch the Teflon. There are cleaning products that are sold specifically for this, but a sponge usually works great – that’s the whole point of Teflon! The only time it’s hard to clean is if you let something get crusty on it. Here’s a neat trick. If it’s GOOD Teflon, not some no-name low quality import with a scant coating that’s already flaking off, just put it back on the stove (or plug it back in if self-powered). Get it good and hot, then dump some hot water in it. This is similar to how you “deglaze” a pan when you want to make a pan sauce. Use a scrub brush with soft bristles, and scrub for a few moments, and anything on the griddle will come right off.
