What is the best way to maintain short relaxed black hair?

I’m confused. Is this how you want to style your hair or are setbacks making you do it this way – Growing it and then having to cut it into a short hairstyle because of damage? Relaxers cause damage in more ways than one so you should never relax your hair once a month because that’s unhealthy for your hair and scalp. If you can go longer between relaxers then that’s healthier for your hair and scalp. The recommended length of time is every 6-8 weeks but that’s so the beautician can clearly distinguish between the new growth and relaxed hair and not overlap the relaxer, but the longer you can go then the better. But, to be honest, you seem more concerned about hairstyle than hair health. I agree with the person who said you should start washing your hair more often. You can shampoo once a week and use conditioner about 2-3 times a week without the shampoo. Use the conditioner like you would shampoo, rinse, and then use the conditioner to condition your hair – this is called co-washing.
