What is the best way to raise my child as bilingual?

The best thing would be for each of you to speak in your native tongue to your child. I wanted our daughter to be trilingual since my Grandma speaks Spanish, and her mom’s side grandma speaks Japanese, while both of us parents speak English and we both only know certain words and sayings in our family’s native language. We asked both Grandmas to speak only in their “foreign” languages to our daughter but they didn’t really follow our plan, they thought it wouldn’t work. Now she knows some words for all 3 languages but only what the Grandmas taught her. I have heard and read that a child will pick up any language if they were exposed to it since the time of birth. So just keep speaking to your baby in both languages as much as possible, and also explain what the words mean in both languages and the differences between the two. For example, my daughter knows that basura and trash are the same thing and mesa/table are the same, along with many others. She also knows many of her body parts
