What is the blade radius of a wind turbine?
There are different sizes – lengths and widths of wind turbines, thus their blade’s radius vary. Wind turbine manufacturers have different models of these wind turbines according to the materials used, sizes, lengths, durability or quality, etc. Common wind turbines measure 10-feet diameter blade, usually with its tip measuring a radius of 5 feet, the pitch is 3 degrees, the width is 3 inches, and the thickest part of the airfoil is 3/8 inches. It follows a standard of “1/8 as thick as it is wide”. At the half way point, the radius is 2 feet and 6 inches.
