What is the Canada Learning Bond?

0

The Canada Learning Bond (CLB) was implemented to help families with modest incomes get started on saving for their child’s education after high school. You can get the Canada Learning Bond if your child was born after December 31st, 2003 and you receive the National Child Benefit Supplement as part of the Canada Child Tax (commonly know as the “baby bonus” or “family allowance”). This usually applies to families whose net family income is below $37,178. Your child can get $500, and an extra $100 per year for up to 15 years, as long as you continue to receive the National Child Benefit Supplement.
