I have also read that there are some remote valleys in that vicinity where temperatures have been known to plummet to -­110°F (-­80°C) during some of the coldest winters! Another place just several degrees south of the Arctic Circle is the summit of Mount Logan where the temperature dropped to ­-106°F (­-76°C). However, this was unofficial because of the very high altitude. I’m sure that the summit of Mount McKinley experiences similar temperatures.
