What is the Collaborative/Common Management System (CMS) project?
CMS is a CSU-mandated initiative that seeks to replace legacy administrative software initially in Human Resource Management and Financial Accounting and Student Administration on each of the 23 campuses. A word about the name: “CMS” When the project was first being discussed in late 1996, the concept of a collaborative campus venture was a guiding force. More recently, the policy of commonality of business pactices and their supporting software has emerged. Thus the “C” in “CMS” stands for both “Collaborative” and “Common.” The “MS” stands for “Management Systems.
