What is the correct size garbage disposal?
If you are replacing the existing disposer and are satisfied with the performance, purchase the same size. If not, then determine the size by your usage. For example, 1/3 horsepower will handle limited use once a day. A standard 1/2 horsepower will normally handle general use. Heavy duty 1/2 horsepower units and larger are designed for large volumes of garbage.
