What is the current state of Indonesian church in light of the Indonesian society?
If we talk about Indonesian church we need to understand the culture inside of the Indonesian church. I’ve been criticized quite a bit because of my view and my analysis about Indonesian church. Simply because I don’t live in Indonesia, how dare I speak about Indonesian churches? But that’s o.k., in the spirit of democracy that kind of criticism is important for me so that I can be careful in my observations and my analysis, but it doesn’t mean that I cannot speak about churches in Indonesia because I have a lot of friends inside Indonesian churches, pastors and also congregations. I always seek to find out what’s going on in the churches. What I’m afraid to say and I know this will generate more criticism on me but that’s okay as long as the criticism is given to me in the spirit of having a continuous dialogues and discussions.
