What is the curriculum offered in the Junior School?

0

The main aim of the curriculum in Junior School is to lay and build foundations in Literacy and Numeracy. The curriculum for these areas is reviewed periodically by all the Junior School teachers who teach Language Arts and Math in consultation with the Head of Junior School and the Head of that particular department so that students are prepared as best as possible to make an easy transition into the Senior School programme. The textbooks, trade books and other resources we use to cover the curriculum are chosen as part of the periodic review. At present we are using the Houghton Mifflin Anthology for Language Arts, and Abacus Mathematics. Besides these two main areas of focus, students learn science, social studies, Hindi, computers, art, music and attend physical education classes. Again, the curriculum for all these subjects has been built with the hope that the students are well prepared for grade 7. We also endeavour to create an appreciation for learning and good study habits am
