A Kingsville mechanic has been hounded for years for hospital bills that weren’t his, he said, with the most recent bill for about $55,000. “I’ve never been to that hospital,” said Dewey Elsik, 72, regarding the Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline bills he has been receiving for several years, for another patient. “I’ve talked to everybody over there,” Elsik said. “They pass me to somebody else and it’s never been fixed.” Elsik said that some of the patient’s bills have been submitted to his Medicare account, and he has been worried that they would damage his credit. Troubleshooter on Wednesday contacted Sherry Carr-Deer, Spohn Health System’s spokeswoman. She alerted billing management, and Elsik was contacted by late afternoon.
