A. Auto Iris lenses are great for outdoor application to help the camera manage light from day to night. Manual iris lenses are good for fixed light applications such as interview rooms where the light is a constant. In some applications, auto iris lenses are not desired outdoors (such as LPR) as headlights can cause the iris to close and thus miss the license plate.
