What is the difference between a Beta Blocker and a Calcium Channel Blocker used for hypertension?

They both treat high blood pressure. A beta blocker blocks beta’s and causes your arteries to dilate, thus decreasing the pressure needed for your heart to push the blood against, also it decreases your heart rate and decreases cardiac remodeling if you are prone to heart failure or diabetes. Calcium channel blockers block calcium uptake and basically works the same way, ONLY it does not prevent cardiac remodelling. Beta blockers carry with them a risk of increased fatigue and depression like symptoms during the first 4 to 6 months, but it does get better and is a great drug.
