What is the difference between a client-side XSL Transformation and a server-side XSL Transformation?

0

A client-side XSL transformation is performed by the web browser when a visitor browses to an XML file that is linked to an XSL file for formatting. A server-side XSL transformation is performed by an application server and the visitor would browse to a ColdFusion, PHP, ASP or ASP.NET file. Most “real world” transformation projects will involve server-side transformations, and this approach is preferred if you don?t own and control the XML data source, so that the XML data is automatically updated. If you do own and develop the XML data source, then client-side transformations may be an option. Please refer to Displaying XML Data in Web Pages in the Using Dreamweaver help documentation to learn more about this.
