What is the difference between an “attached” and “detached” home?

A standalone property, for a single family/dweller, with no sharing wall (ie no wall is shared with another property) is detached. An attached property has at least 1 shared wall… if there are only 2 houses sharing 1 wall, this is semi-detached, if there are 4 houses linked in a chain, this is sometimes called a townhouse, and if there are more daisychained together, then this is a terrace.
