What is the difference between CBT and psychodynamic therapy?

0

CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) is all about the mental pathways of thinking which affect your behaviour. Here you’re more likely to train yourself into thinking in a new way. Different techniques will include Socratic Thinking, increasing your frustration tolerance (so you can cope with stress more) Psychodynamic is about delving into your unconscious mind and resurfacing any past experiences that have been repressed into the unconscious mind. Techniques will include Dream Interpretation, Hypnosis. So its basically all to do with the past and dealing with any past conflicts or painful repressed material. the difference is that psychodynamic is all about the past and its effect on the present time.
