What is the difference between EIP and EHIP?
• EIP is the Early Intervention Program operated by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). EIP provides services to help eligible persons with HIV get the health care they need to improve and maintain their health. Their services include HIV-related prescription coverage, limited HIV-related medical care (which includes assisting with insurance deductibles in specific situations), and spenddown assistance. • EHIP is the Evergreen Health Insurance Program. We pay medical insurance premiums for eligible Washington residents living with HIV/AIDS. You must be currently enrolled in EIP to qualify for Evergreen. • DOH HIV Client Services manages the EIP program in-house and contracts with Lifelong AIDS Alliance to run the Evergreen Health Insurance Program. EIP lists one of their services as insurance premium payment assistance. This service is offered through Evergreen for EIP enrolled clients.
