What is the difference between Galvanized Steel and Stainless Steel nuts & bolts?
Galvanized steel is an anti-corrosion metal that is zinc coated. Galvanized steel does rust where it is has been welded, scratched or over stress. The galvanized coating disperses over time which also leads to rusting. Stainless steel is somewhat misleading in that it is available in many levels or series of quality. 304 Series Stainless Steel shows signs of rust in some areas located closer to the ocean in 6 months or less.
